speed loader instructions

SP100 Lever Rifle Speed Loader

32-20, 25-20, .38spl, .357 mag

  1. Load 6 cartridges, using the next cartridge to push the previous past the detent, invert the loader and firmly shake it, if no cartridges fall out, cartridge retention is correct.

  2. You can adjust retention by turning detent with a 3mm allen key - clockwise for more retention, counter-clockwise for less (loaders are set for .357 magnum from factory).

  3. Be careful not to allow the detent to protrude too far into the channel or case rim, cartridge plunger or detent will be damaged (replacement detents are available from our online shop).

  4. Ensure rifle is unloaded and the chamber is empty before attempting to use the speed loader.

  5. Place head of the speed loader against the loading gate of your rifle, allowing the hook to catch the front of the loading gate.

  6. Keeping your fingers in front of the collar, firmly and quickly push the handle forward to load your rifle.

  7. Do not attempt to top up magazine with speed loader.

  8. To reload, repeat steps 3 through 6.

  • Cartridge overall length (COAL) and projectile shape is critical, if you experience loading jams, try adjusting your COAL first, then experiment with other shape projectiles if that doesn’t work.

  • Do not use with FMJ, spitzer or ballistic tip projectiles.

  • We recommend having your lever rifle slicked up, including lightening of the loading gate spring.

  • Marlin 1894 rifles require a minor modification to the mouth of the magazine tube, please visit our website for further instructions.
